LIV NIELSEN
LIV NIELSEN
Liv Nielsen, a Minnesota native currently splitting her time between Minneapolis and Orange County, where she is in Chapman University’s BFA Dance Performance program.
She began dancing at the age of three and has trained/competed in all styles of dance under many leading teachers and choreographers, including Talya Dozois, Corie Young, Molly Melendy, Alyssa Ness, Derrick Schrader, Laura Sukowatey, Brittani Bartone, Kia Christine, and Matt Hackman. She spent most of her formative years in the competition world, and also trained and performed with a pre-professional contemporary dance company, Crash Dance Productions, where she learned how to bridge modern and contemporary techniques. She began working with kids of all ages when she was 15 years old, and one of her biggest inspirations as a teacher and choreographer is watching her dancers thrive after helping them refine their movement, fluidity, and control. She has most recently been teaching at The Vibe Dance and Fitness, a leading boutique-style dance studio in the Twin Cities.
At Chapman, she is studying to earn her BFA in Dance Performance along with minors in Entrepreneurship and Community Educational Studies. She aspires to build a career in dance to share her knowledge and passion with younger dancers to develop confidence, character, resilience, and grace, just like her dance mentors have done for her.
