SANDRINE MATTEI
Sandrine won several ballet & contemporary competitions in France & Europe. At 16 she was mentored by Rita Poelvoorde, former principal dancer with Béjart Ballet Lausanne, & was invited to summer intensives at the Royal Ballet of Flanders school in Antwerp, Belgium under the direction of Robert Denvers.
Sandrine danced at the National Opera Ballet Theater of Bordeaux, France.
She was one of the original dancers for Cirque du Soleil's “Beatles LOVE” at the Mirage in Vegas (3x Grammy award winning show).
After 7 years Sandrine was chosen for the Principal role of ’ The Black Widow" for Cirque du Soleil's original production “Mystère.” Sandrine was the Cirque du Soleil's dance captain & artist coach, & was featured in Dance Spirit Magazine for her role as “Leading the cast of Love," by Cirque du Soleil.
Sandrine has worked under Sonya Tayeh, Mandy Moore, Daniel Ezralow, NappyTabbs & more. She has extensive experience in commercial dance.
She performed in The Grammy Awards MusiCares with Sir Paul McCartney & Ringo Starr, performed on America’s Got Talent finale, NHL Awards, Latin Grammy’s , GLAAD Awards, & performed in Cirque du Soleil “Worlds Away “3D movie, directed by James Cameron.
Sandrine is currently a teacher, choreographer & is passionate about being able to share her knowledge & experience with the next generation of artists. She is an advocate of creating a safe space for dancers to express emotions, develop creativity & technical skills.
